If you’re looking to keep costs down, check for hotels with special offers, e.g. free nights, but ensure your arrival day applies. Try to avoid Eurotunnel or Ferry travel before 2pm from the UK and if you can, return before 1pm from the continent. If travelling with Eurostar, be aware that ticket prices can rise as trains fill, so book as early as possible and if you can be flexible with journey times that can help us find you better value seats.

Ypres is our second most popular short break destination. A pretty medieval city reduced to rubble during WW1, which has been faithfully rebuilt during the last century. Ypres retains its history and splendour of old - each evening you will be reminded of its past by the sounding of the last post played at 8:00 pm before the Menin gate since 1928. That being said, Ypres is not just about its history, these days you will find a vibrant, lively city with a warm pleasant atmosphere, plenty of good eating houses and things to do, and some excellent value hotels.
